Los Angeles is a sanctuary city. That means we protect our neighbors, not turn them over to federal agents. But right now, ICE is terrorizing our communities, and President Trump is turning our city into a war zone.

Over the past several days, immigration agents have raided homes, businesses, and even legal immigration appointments. People have been arrested while attending interviews, swept up while working day labor jobs, and taken into custody outside courthouses and detention centers. More than 100 people have already been detained.

And it’s not stopping.

ICE is saying they will be out “every day.” This is not just enforcement, this is an invasion of a city that chose to stand with immigrants.

Now, in an outrageous abuse of power, Trump has sent in 300 National Guard troops without permission from the governor. Tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash bangs have already been used on peaceful protesters. Military forces are patrolling our streets alongside police in riot gear. Trump says this is about law and order, but what’s happening looks more like a crackdown on civil rights.

This is not what safety looks like. This is not who we are.

We demand an immediate end to ICE raids in Los Angeles. We demand the removal of federal troops from our city. We call on President Trump to respect the people of Los Angeles, our values, and our right to protect those who call this place home.
