Thanks to the efforts of Barbara Gallen the following bill was passed.
Violation of Fair Parking Policies (AB 2712): Under California’s AB 2712, new and existing developments built without standard parking minimums are excluded from preferential parking districts, meaning their residents cannot obtain parking permits. This forces them to rely on already limited public street parking, impacting existing residents and businesses.
Purpose to oppose licensing of alcohol:
Community Disruption: The introduction of a restaurant with alcohol service could lead to increased noise, late-night disturbances, and safety concerns in a neighborhood already struggling with parking due to developer not providing any parking for 77 residential units being built .
