As a proud Autistic American, I was deeply disturbed and offended by the insensitive and disrespectful remarks made by our Health and Human Service Secretary, RFK JR about people with Autism. His baseless and demeaning words not only hurt me personally, but also demeaned the entire Autistic community in our country. It's a blow to our dignity and the respect that we deserve.

People with Autism have the same rights and dignity as anyone else, and it is outrageous and unacceptable for a person in such a prominent position to make such thoughtless remarks. As per an Autism Society report, autism affects 1 in 54 children in the United States. These children and their families deserve better, they deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

Autism is not a disease, it's a different way of experiencing the world. Negative attitudes and misunderstandings can cause significant harm, leading to increased social isolation and mental health problems. When people in positions of authority display such ignorance, it not only emboldens others to do the same, but also further stigmatizes those on the spectrum.

I call upon all who read this to stand with the Autistic community and demand the immediate resignation of Health and Human Service Secretary RFK JR.
