As a Melbournian teen who visits city of Greater Geelong frequently, I find myself surrounded by a growing culture that is tarnishing our once beautiful city. The rise of eshays - teenagers who engage in disruptive behavior such as vaping, drug use, and street fights - has led to a significant decline in our city's reputation. This issue is so prevalent that it has become the subject of memes mocking Geelong's adlayism.

Greater Geelong was once a wondrous city attracting tourists from as far away as Kuala Lumpur. However, this influx of antisocial behavior has caused it to become derelict and unattractive for visitors. This not only affects the image of our city but also impacts local businesses that rely on tourism.

The majority of teens in Geelong have fallen into this eshay culture which limits social options for those who wish to steer clear from such behaviors. As one of these decent teens seeking better peer options, I am deeply concerned about the future society within this once spectacular county if we don't take action now.

We call upon the City Council to illegalize adlayism and implement stricter measures against disruptive behaviors associated with eshays. We need policies that will deter such actions and restore order within our community while providing more positive outlets for our youth population.
