Demand for the Removal of Nurse Practitioner Beckie Nowland

The Issue

My mother was a patient under the care of Nurse Practitioner Beckie Nowland at the Colquitt Regional Medical Center. However, instead of providing her with the necessary medical treatment, she was sent home with her O2 levels dangerously low. If not for another doctor, my mother would have continued to suffer - she was later hospitalized for over two weeks, relying on supplementary oxygen.

Sadly, my encounters with Beckie didn't end there. When I once sought medical attention for my back, she dismissed it as muscle spasms without conducting any tests. I was in unbearable pain and she even refused my request for an x-ray saying, "Why would I do that?" I told her I wasn't seeking any pain medicine, just an xray. She refused and sent me home. Later, a different doctor ran the necessary tests and found that I had arthritis, a herniated disk and deterioration in my lower spine.

After talking to other staff who have worked with her, this is all too common in how she treats patients. She treats everyone who works around her as if she is superior and has the authority to talk down on others. It seems she feels that her medical diagnoses are absolute and she can't be wrong. This mindset puts everyone in her care at risk.

Therefore, I appeal for your support. Nurse Practitioner Becky needs to be permanently removed from Colquitt Regional Medical Center. No patient deserves to be treated with such disregard or risk to their health. To prevent further harm, we must demand for accountable and capable health care professionals who respect and consider the well-being of their patients. Please, sign this petition to help make the medical center safer for everyone.
