Demand for an Immediate and Independent Animal Welfare Investigation at Fripps Farm, Essex

Demand for an Immediate and Independent Animal Welfare Investigation at Fripps Farm, Essex
The Issue
We the general public formally call for an immediate, independent, and thorough animal welfare investigation to be conducted at Fripps Farm Essex, operated by public figure Jodie Marsh.
There is significant and ongoing public concern regarding animal welfare standards at this site. Over 16 thousand people have stressed concerns about this farm for a couple of years now and have provided enough proof of this farm needing an investigation.Given the level of public attention discussion and proof surrounding the farm it is both reasonable and necessary that these concerns are addressed through official lawful inspection. She has refused RSPCA visits TWICE.
In the UK animal welfare is protected by legislation and the public has a right to expect that farms particularly those that attract public attention are subject to proper oversight, accountability and transparency. An independent inspection by the appropriate authorities is the only credible way to either confirm compliance or identify any issues that require improvement.
A failure to act risks:
Allowing serious and specific welfare concerns including widely raised public concern regarding the condition of a Highland cow known as Hamish to remain unexamined by qualified professionals.
Prolonging uncertainty where only an official inspection can establish the facts.
Undermining public confidence in animal welfare oversight when concerns are repeatedly raised but not formally addressed
A formal unannounced welfare inspection carried out by qualified inspectors such as the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) or relevant local authority officers would provide clarity, reassurance, and factual findings based on professional standards.
Transparency benefits everyone involved. If welfare standards are being met, an official inspection will confirm this. If improvements are required, they can be addressed appropriately and lawfully.
If the farm isn’t looking after the animals we expect the farm to be shut down.
We therefore urge the relevant authorities to take public concern seriously and carry out a full, independent animal welfare inspection at Fripps Farm without delay.
