This petition stems from a personal story that struck a chord. A hard-working citizen – a father, dreams of fixing his old house and possibly move to his dream home. Unfortunately, like many others, he has been held down by greedy politicians and their practices which incessantly drain money from the pockets of every citizen.

The citizens of Maryland are tired of increasing taxes, water bills, and BG&E rises without any clear transparency in the handling and application of these funds. Too many projects, which were funded by taxpayers, have never seen the light of day. Moreover, it is disheartening to pay for "safe streets" when safety is far from guaranteed.

Taxpayer money has been grossly mismanaged, causing increased burdens on everyday citizens like hard-working fathers just trying to provide for their families. We bear the brunt of these regressive practices, having to worry about seemingly arbitrary fees for essential utilities, which should be readily accessible and affordable to all. His concerns about higher water bills, when water is essentially free, and increasing gas and electric bills, when energy is abound but not judiciously tapped, are shared by many.

The government is supposed to work for the people, and it is imperative that we return to that ethos. To do this, we need to ensure fiscal transparency, fair taxation, and efficient use of public resources. It's time to shed light on the mismanagement of taxpayer money and call for fiscal accountability.
