Demand Fiscal Responsibility and Environmental Stewardship from the Rockliff Liberal Government

Demand Fiscal Responsibility and Environmental Stewardship from the Rockliff Liberal Government
The issue
I am a resident of Tasmania, an island state of Australia, and I write this petition out of profound concern for my home and my loved ones.
My son stands to inherit an environment harshly impacted by negligence and poor decisions made by our present government. We demand immediate action in rectifying these issues.
This is not a politically motivated attack, but rather it is based on a track record of repeated failures.
The handling of the proposed Maq Point Stadium has raised concerns. It seems to prioritise fleeting gains over our community's long-term wellbeing and financial health.
We remind the Rockliff Liberal Government of the mismanagement of the Spirit of Tasmania, a vital link to the mainland, which has left citizens in the lurch and raised serious issues around competent governance.
The environmental decisions, including those related to logging and salmon farming, are further examples of the Rockliff Government’s ineptitude and shortcomings.
According to the Australian Marine Conservation Society, Tasmania's salmon farming industry has a host of ecological issues, most prominently the degradation of marine habitats.
The fiscal mismanagement is not just about making poor financial choices, but about the disregard for those who will carry the financial repercussions for generations to come. Our children, like my son, are the ones who will pay for this.
What we perceive is not just ignorance, but governmental narcissism, as though our voices, the voters who put them in power do not matter. They forget that they are elected to serve us in carrying out responsible governance.
We call for competent governance, responsible fiscal management, and firm commitment to environmental sustainability.
It is time for the Rockliff Liberal Government to revise their positions and act in the best interest of their people. Please sign this petition to demand better from our government.
