I am deeply concerned about the health implications linked with dangerous chemicals, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals (PFAS), also referred to as 'forever chemicals,' present in everyday personal care items. These chemicals are deemed 'forever chemicals' because they do not degrade over time and persist in the environment indefinitely. Alarmingly, these chemicals are found in commonplace items such as baby wipes, mascara, lipstick, creams, purifying masks, and even diapers. This exposure becomes even more critical considering the aggressive marketing of cosmetics to young people.

As a witness to the rising rates of childhood and other cancers, I feel it is our right to make informed choices about the products we use. PFAS have been found in a range of cosmetics and personal care products. This finding poses health risks to consumers, including potential links to cancer, birth defects, thyroid disease, and liver damage over frequent or long term use.

The aim of this petition is to urge the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to step in, acknowledge these risks, and regulate the concentration of these hazardous 'forever chemicals' in personal care products. We can no longer risk our health for the sake of cosmetics. Please sign this petition to protect consumers, particularly young children, from harmful exposure to toxic chemicals.
