The Issue

We are deeply concerned about the unjust treatment of Russian nationals seeking asylum at the Southern Border of the United States. These individuals, fleeing from Putin's oppressive regime, are being held in detention centers with no opportunity for release. This is despite many suffering from physical and mental health issues as a direct result of their experiences under Putin's regime.

The US Immigration Customs Enforcement has been singling out these Russian nationals, targeting them for reasons that remain unclear. Disturbingly, nationals from countries known to sponsor terrorism are being released while those who oppose Putin's regime continue to be held in custody.

This situation is not only unfair but also goes against America's long-standing tradition of providing refuge to those escaping political persecution. According to data from Human Rights First, an estimated 25,000 Russians sought asylum in the United States between 2012 and 2017 - a clear testament to America's role as a beacon of hope for those fleeing tyranny.

We urge you to take immediate action and ensure that all asylum seekers - regardless of their country of origin - are treated fairly and humanely. Please sign this petition demanding justice for Russian asylum seekers at our border.
