Demand fair severance pay and benefits for Louisville shop employees

Demand fair severance pay and benefits for Louisville shop employees
The Issue
For the past 25 plus years, we have dedicated our lives to a company that we trusted and believed in. Alongside my coworkers, many of whom have been here just as long, if not longer—some for over 30 years—we built not just a workplace, but a community. Now, we are facing the harsh prospect of being let go without the recognition and appreciation we deserve.
When you invest decades into any company, it isn't just a job; it's a commitment, and one that deserves reciprocal loyalty. Many of my colleagues, who have devoted their careers to this shop, find themselves in extraordinarily difficult positions, both financially and emotionally, as they risk being cast aside with minimal severance pay and inadequate benefits.
Severance pay is not a favor, it’s a right and a necessity, especially for employees who have dedicated a large portion of their lives contributing to the success of their employers. At a time when the cost of living is on the rise and economic stability is uncertain, fair severance packages and benefits are critical to ensuring that workers can transition safely without falling into a financial crisis.
The employees of our shop are not just asking for what is fair, but for what is just. It is fundamentally unfair to profit from our years of dedication and commitment and then discard us without adequate compensation for our time, effort, and loyalty.
We call upon the company's leadership to step up and honor these commitments, to ensure that their employees are not only recognized with gratitude but also treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. A fair severance package would include (but not be limited to) extended healthcare benefits, fair monetary compensation that reflects years of service.
We, as dedicated employees, stand united in demanding justice and fair treatment. Sign this petition to support the hard-working employees of our Louisville shop in obtaining the fair severance pay and benefits they rightfully deserve.
