Demand Fair Housing Policies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

The Issue

I am a student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Like many of my peers, I have been affected by the university's housing policies that do not allow us to live off campus. Despite an 83% acceptance rate, the university insists on providing on-campus housing for students in their first two years. This has resulted in overcrowded dorms and uncomfortable living conditions for underclassmen.

Moreover, there seems to be a lack of transparency and fairness in room selection times. Many of us who live in cheaper dorms have later selection dates which prevents us from choosing nicer rooms. There are also rumors about selected roommates being split up due to insufficient space.

This situation is not only affecting our quality of life but also our academic performance and overall college experience. It is important that universities provide adequate living conditions for their students as it directly impacts their well-being and success.

We urge Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to reconsider its housing policies and allow students the option to live off campus if they wish so. We also demand more transparency in room allocation processes to ensure fairness for all students.

Please sign this petition if you believe that every student deserves fair treatment and comfortable living conditions during their college years.
