PETITION TO THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AND TEXAS STATE LEGISLATURE:

Demand Fair Compensation for Uber Drivers & Regulation of Exploitative Practices

We, the rideshare drivers of the United States, urgently call upon lawmakers to intervene against Uber’s unjust financial practices. Despite bearing 100% of operational costs—gasoline, insurance, maintenance, and vehicle expenses—Uber deducts over 60% of customer fares as company fees, leaving drivers with unsustainable earnings.  

In 2025, Uber has worsened this inequity: slashing driver pay while raising prices for riders, exploiting both sides of its platform during record inflation. This corporate greed forces drivers into debt, endangering livelihoods and destabilizing families.  

We Demand Immediate Action:
1. Cap Uber’s commission to 20% per ride to ensure fair driver compensation.  
2. Mandate transparency in fare breakdowns for drivers and riders.  
3. Investigate Uber’s predatory pricing and enforce anti-exploitation laws.  

Drivers are the backbone of this industry—yet Uber treats us as disposable. Without accountability, this exploitation will escalate.
