Demand Facebook to stop posting videos with a false narrative that show animal abuse
The Issue
These harmless animals are subjected to abuse, torture, rape, and much more. their suffering filmed and shared on Facebook for entertainment purposes with a changed narrative to get clicks. They have trained these monkeys to attack and rape with commands. If the obey the feed then. If they do not the best them. They spray them, with pepper spray, shoot with BB guns, throw in the water, hit, rape, and so much more. They surround them and kick them to intogate fighting. This is not only unethical but also contributes to a culture of animal cruelty that we should be striving to eliminate.
According to a report by World Animal Protection, there has been an alarming increase in wildlife exploitation for social media posts (World Animal Protection, 2020). Monkeys are among the most affected species. They are often taken from their natural habitats at a young age, subjected to cruel training methods and forced into unnatural behaviors for the amusement of viewers.
Facebook has policies against animal abuse content but these videos continue to slip through the cracks. By allowing this content on its platform, Facebook indirectly supports this form of animal cruelty.
We call upon Facebook's sense of responsibility towards its global community and urge them to take immediate action against such videos displaying unethical training of animals and origination from a very specific area known for this practice. It's time we stand up against animal exploitation in all forms and ensure that our online platforms do not become breeding grounds for such atrocities.
Please sign this petition if you believe in a world where animals are treated with respect they deserve. Let us join hands together and make our voices heard!
