I am a resident of Surrey, BC, and like many others, I work late into the night. After 9.30 PM there is no bus service available from Scottsdale to Langley on route 364. This leaves me with a daunting walk of 30 minutes from King George 64 Ave to my home. The streets are not safe at night; there have been numerous incidents of missing people and robberies.

This situation forces us to resort to more expensive options like Uber just to get back home safely after work - an additional financial burden that many cannot afford. We are taxpayers who deserve a safer environment and more accessible public transportation services at night.

Surrey is one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada with over half a million residents (source: Statistics Canada). It's crucial that our public transportation system keeps pace with this growth and meets the needs of its citizens.

We urge TransLink, the entity responsible for managing bus services in Metro Vancouver area including Surrey, BC, to extend the operating hours of Bus Route 364 beyond 9:30 PM. This will ensure safer commutes for late-night workers like myself and contribute towards building a more inclusive city where everyone has access to safe and affordable transportation regardless of their working hours.
