The Issue

We, the future residents of Concord King’s Landing in North York, are preparing to move into what will be our homes—an important long-term financial and personal commitment for many of us. With our families and futures tied to this development, transparency and verified safety are essential.

On October 14, 2025, multiple media outlets, including CBC News and CP24, reported a natural gas explosion at the construction site, based on preliminary information from emergency responders. According to these reports, the incident occurred during construction and resulted in serious injuries.

As occupancy now progresses, it is both reasonable and necessary for future residents to receive clear and documented confirmation of the final investigation findings and the scope of post-incident review.

Accordingly, we demand the following before occupancy proceeds:

• Public disclosure of the official investigation findings related to the October 14, 2025 incident, including confirmation of the technical cause, to the extent legally permitted.
• An independent third-party structural and systems inspection conducted by a licensed engineering firm not previously engaged in the project.
• Public release of the resulting independent inspection report and certification.
• Confirmation that occupancy approval relies upon documented structural adequacy and regulatory compliance.

This petition is not about assigning blame. It is about transparency, independent verification, and restoring public confidence following a serious construction-phase incident.

Both disclosure of the investigation findings and independent structural certification are essential. One without the other is insufficient.

By signing this petition, you support responsible transparency, independent review, and assurance for all current and future residents of Concord King’s Landing.
