Its days with no electricity for many of us. Hurricane Beryl has come and gone, but its aftermath is still very much a harsh reality. The storm left millions around the city of Houston, including myself, without power, but the WHY remains unanswered.
Residents of Houston are left in the dark, both figuratively and literally, as Centerpoint Energy - our power provider, fails to adequately respond to the crisis. It is crucial for Houstonians to understand why the system failed us, even more so, if there were preventable factors involved. It is high time for transparency and accountability. We need to know the vulnerabilities in our infrastructure, identify what went wrong, and learn how these issues will be addressed in the future. This is imperative. We deserve an explanation so that the city prevents such a power crisis from happening again. We want answers from Centerpoint Energy.
