Demand Exemptions for Dog Breeds Mistaken as XL Bullies

The Issue

I am writing this petition out of personal concern and a deep love for dogs. I fear that the impending ban on XL Bully breeds may inadvertently affect other dog breeds that share similar physical characteristics but are not, in fact, XL Bullies. Breeds such as normal bulldogs, American bulldogs, Old English bulldogs and Alapha Blue Blood Bulldogs could potentially be misidentified due to their resemblance to the banned breed.

The current exemption only allows owners to declare if they own an XL Bully; however, there is no provision protecting non-XL Bully breeds from being mistaken as such. This lack of distinction can lead to unnecessary complications and potential harm towards these innocent animals.

It's crucial that we understand the importance of accurate breed identification before implementing any breed-specific legislation. According to a study by the National Canine Research Council (NCRC), visual identification of dog breeds is incorrect more than two-thirds of the time when compared with DNA analysis.

We need more comprehensive research into this matter before moving forward with any bans or restrictions. It's essential that we protect all dogs from unfair treatment based on their appearance rather than their behavior or individual characteristics.

I urge you all to sign this petition demanding exemptions for non-XL bully breeds that might look similar but are not part of the banned category. Let us stand together for fair treatment and accurate representation for all our beloved canine companions!
