I write this petition compelled by the fury of angry posts by the customers of Eversource. Reading the horror stories of customers who are loweringtheir heat and tolerating the cold temperatures is an infuriating experience - one that too many Eversource natural gas and electric customers can relate to. In one billing period, despite using only $148 worth of natural gas, one customer was charged an astonishing $322 in delivery services. My total bill was more than $539 - a sum many of us cannot shoulder.

The shock and confusion was overwhelming. Gas delivery charges exceeding even the cost of the gas itself? Imagine ordering a meal for around $150 and then getting charged an additional $322 for it being delivered!

Sadly, I am not alone in grappling with these escalated costs. Many Eversource customers are being financially burdened by these exorbitant delivery charges - charges sometimes triple the cost of energy usage. Such practices are not only unethical, but also pose a threat to our fundamental rights as consumers to fair pricing.

It's high time we demand a reform that significantly reduces these delivery charges and recognizes our rights to affordable energy. Eversource, as a dominant force in the energy market, has a responsibility towards its customers to ensure that its billing system is ethical and equitable.

We call upon lawmakers and regulators to urgently intervene in this matter and impose regulations to curtail these inflated delivery charges. The discharge of this social responsibility is crucial to protect the basic consumer rights of thousands, if not millions, of Eversource customers.
