Christopher Payne, my only son and a United States citizen, has been languishing in arbitrary detention in Japan for the past 4.5 years. Christopher's mental and physical health are deteriorating, and yet, there has been no tangible support from the United States government. This situation resonates with several other U.S. citizens caught in similar legal limbos, deprived of due process in Japan.
