I, alongside many others, have been personally affected by the malicious actions of a known scammer, Emmanuel Benjamin. Currently a student of De Montfort University (DMU) and resident of Tannery accommodation in Leicester, he has been scamming innocent people unapologetically. Not only does he steal from us, but he also laughs about it, and appallingly, threatens our lives.

It is unacceptable that a reputable institution such as DMU harbours such a character who not only taints the name of the university but also poses a potential physical threat to the student body and the Leicester community. Institutions across the country have expelled students in the past for lesser offences - DMU should be no outlier in its approach to keeping the student body safe and its reputation intact.

Our request is simple: DMU should consider the wellbeing and safety of its students and act decisively against Emmanuel Benjamin. We demand his immediate expulsion. This direct course of action will send a clear message that such reprehensible conduct has no place in DMU or any other educational institution for that matter.
