My family, along with several others in Pine Flat, CA, have been suffering for the past two years due to the inability to consume our tap water. The reason? Sediment, dirt, and menieral contamination. This issue has been ongoing since the before the Camp Fire in 2018 and despite our repeated pleas for help, Del Oro Water Company (DOWC) has failed to address this urgent concern until they received a citation from the State of California for failure to provide suitable potable water to their customers. 

DOWC is now under a Compliance Order from the State Water Board's Division of Drinking Water which mandates them to install a new water well/tank for providing clean water. However, instead of taking responsibility for their negligence and bearing these costs themselves, DOWC plans on passing this financial burden onto us - their customers. They propose increasing our readiness rate from $67.58 to an exorbitant $106.67 per month.

This is not just about my family; it's about all families residing in Tulare County who rely on DOWC for their daily water needs. We are being forced into paying more money due to DOWC's failure at providing basic services that we are entitled to as customers.

It is high time that DOWC takes full responsibility for its actions and provides us with clean drinking water without any unjust rate hikes. We demand immediate action from relevant authorities against such unethical practices by utility companies like DOWC.
