My name is Dania Adame and I am writing to share the tragic story of my younger brother, Jose Luis Flores, who was senselessly murdered on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was just 18 years old.

Jose Luis was fatally shot multiple times at approximately 4:00 PM while pumping gas at the Circle K located at 2475 West Tarrant Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. He was the victim of an attempted robbery carried out by Keionn Winters, who fled the scene after committing the crime.

The cold-hearted murder of my beloved brother has left our family shattered, and we have been struggling to cope with this devastating loss. Jose Luis was a cherished son, brother, and friend, with a bright future ahead of him. He deserved a chance to live his life, to fulfill his dreams, and to make a positive impact on the world. His life was brutally taken from him, and the man responsible for this heinous act must be held to the highest level of accountability.

The justice system must ensure that the punishment for such a cruel and calculated crime matches the severity of the offense. The evidence against Keionn Winters is overwhelming: clear surveillance footage, eyewitness reports, and forensic evidence unequivocally point to his guilt. Allowing him to evade the death penalty would send a dangerous message that the lives of victims like Jose Luis are not valued.
