Demand Council Release Risk Assessment Resulting in Ulladulla Boat Ramp Closure

The issue

My name is alex qaszem i am the Vice President of the Ulladulla Game Fishing Club. Apart from my love for fishing and the sporting side of it, it's the wellbeing of our local community and the health of our local tourism that I am most concerned about. Our community has been facing significant impacts for the last 10 months due to the closure of the Wason St boat ramp in Ulladulla. Despite numerous requests to the Mayor, local councilors, and the CEO of Shoalhaven council, the risk assessment that prompted this closure has not been made available to us, the people it directly affects. This lack of transparency undermines the trust of our community, the club members, and visiting tourists in the local authority. The absence of a publicized risk assessment also leaves a lot of questions about the decision-making process and the safety standards being applied or not applied. The council has the responsibility to serve its citizens with transparency and integrity; withholding this crucial information goes against these principles. We, the people affected by this closure, urge the council to publicize the risk assessment and fully explain the decision to close the boat ramp. Please support our call for transparency by signing this petition.
