Currently, there's no safe pedestrian route from Perry Blvd NW to W Marietta St. NW, a heavily trafficked route for many kids and residents of the West Highlands, Grove Park, Carver Hills, and several other Northwest Atlanta neighborhoods. There are several Marta stops along this road that cause citizens to wait for the bus in the street as cars and semi-trucks zoom past them. It is only a matter of time that precious lives are taken on this dangerous route, as people are forced to walk in the street amongst several 18-wheelers and speeding vehicles. 

This not only poses a threat to our citizen's and children's livelihoods, but also poses an economic threat to these growing communities. The lack of sidewalk connection cuts these neighborhoods off from the rest of Atlanta, specifically the booming businesses in West Midtown and the completed Westside Beltline Connector (which begins at the intersection of W Marietta St. NW and Marietta Blvd NW). 

This petition demands that the ATLDOT completes all the sidewalks along W Marietta St. NW to ensure pedestrians are not killed on this dangerous route and provide all ATL citizens with equal economic opportunity.
