Demand Congress members Capito, Justice, Moore and Mill Resign for Betraying West Virginia
The Issue
West Virginians, listen up.
We’ve been kicked around long enough. Our grandparents fought the big bosses. Now it’s our turn.
Five rural hospitals have closed here in five years. Nearly 1 in 3 of us rely on Medicaid. 1 in 5 live with a disability. 6.5% of our kids have learning disabilities. 1 in 5 households has no internet. Our roads crumble, our water is poisoned, and industries bleed us dry.
Now the OBBB demands 80 hours a month of work requirements—in counties with no buses, no broadband, and no options. If we can’t meet that standard, they’ll rip away our healthcare.
This is cruelty for the sake of it while lawmakers furnish their offices and sell us out. Senator Shelley Moore Capito backed Trump’s budget gutting aid for our state, then thanked him for naming her son U.S. Attorney. That’s corruption in plain sight.
Jim Justice and Patrick Morrisey aren’t exempt. They take millions in PAC money from Big Pharma, coal, oil, and out-of-state interests:
💰Capito has accepted contributions from coal PACs, PhRMA, and Wall Street firms.
💰Justice profits while our schools close and our towns flood.
💰Morrisey took drug company money while our neighbors died in the opioid crisis.
And if we look at Representatives Riley Moore who posed in front of detainees at CECOT with a thumbs up and Carol Miller who is just as avoidant of her constituents, they can go too.
How long do we pick ourselves up by our bootstraps? Amy Jo said it best: until they fall off. Maybe it’s time to ask why we’re forced to.
Our worth is not measured by paperwork and productivity. Our worth is inherent.
