I am a concerned parent whose children, aged 13 and 16, have been sold vape cigarettes and juice by the Elevape shop in Victory Mall Antipolo. This shop is located dangerously close to where my kids study at OLPS school. It's alarming that this establishment has been selling these harmful products to minors without any regard for their health or the law.

My sons are just 13 and 16 years old. They shouldn't be allowed to buy and use vape cigarettes yet this shop carelessly and knowingly sells to minors. We've also noticed an increase in minors (schoolmates) doing vape since there's a shop so accessible to them. My sons have started hiding this bad habit from us and admit being influenced by their classmates who they see vaping around the school premises.

The consequences of vaping on young lungs are well-documented with studies showing that it can lead to lung irritation, coughing, shortness of breath among other health issues (American Lung Association). My sons now both suffer from coughing which is clearly due to lung irritation from using vapes.

It's time we take action against establishments like Elevape that exploit our children for profit while putting their health at risk. We urge Mayor Andeng Ynares and the Antipolo City Council members to investigate this matter immediately, enforce existing laws if any or enact new ordinances prohibiting such shops near schools if necessary.
