As someone personally affected by the halting progress and frequent derailment of the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks, one of  the longest-running movement in South Asia, I've witnessed firsthand the anxiety, distress, and devastation that this conflict has perpetuated. The settlement has not only become a mockery, but led to the rise of multiple factions, who regularly intimidate and extort the locals.

Given this situation, our community is exhausted and frustrated, contributing to an overall sense of hopelessness. Local populations are experiencing a significant increase in threats and illegal activities. The unfortunate reality is that the ongoing conflict has resulted in severe economic and social impacts, affecting the well-being of millions of innocent lives that have been lost and destroyed.

The central government must take a proactive role to resolve this long-standing conflict. It is their responsibility to help achieve a genuine peace by mitigating illegal activities, handling threats with an iron hand, and expediting the peace talks with seriousness and determination. This issue is not just about a political contract, but an urgent need to secure the welfare of the common public.
