I am a Palestinian living in Cliffside Park, NJ, USA. This petition is deeply personal to me due to my humanitarian concerns for the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The escalating violence has resulted in countless innocent lives lost and widespread devastation. According to data from the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), over 30,000 people have been killed and tens of thousands injured just within a few months of conflict. Half of these people killed are children under the age of 18 with the average age of 5!

This urgent situation calls for immediate action from our local leaders. We urge our council members and Borough of Cliffside Park to pass a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East. By doing so, we can join other communities around the world that are using their collective voices to advocate for peace.

Our community's call for peace will send a strong message that we stand against violence and support human rights universally. It will also show solidarity with those directly affected by this conflict, including Palestinians like myself who  call Cliffside Park home. Most importantly this is a humanitarian petition for peace that should be universally endorced by anyone who values human lives; this is not about taking sides.
