The Issue

As a Palestinian Canadian, I am deeply concerned about the plight of my fellow citizens caught in the devastating genocide in Gaza. Among them is Mansour Shouman, an innocent Canadian citizen who has been missing for five days. This situation is not unique to Mansour; millions are suffering due to the ongoing indiscriminate Israeli bombardment on Gaza.

The violence has resulted in 26,000 deaths – 70% of whom are women and children. Furthermore, there are 8,000 individuals missing and 64,000 injured. These figures reflect a humanitarian crisis, genocide, that cannot be ignored.

The Canadian government must uphold its constitutional obligations to protect its citizens equally at home and abroad. We call upon our leaders to use their influence within the United Nations to locate Mansour Shouman, other missing Canadians, and Canadians impacted by this genocide.

Moreover, we demand that Canada takes a firm stand against these atrocities by imposing sanctions on Israel until they cease their aggressive actions towards Palestine's civilian population.

We believe that Canada can play a crucial role in calling for a permanent and sustained ceasefire - one that respects human rights globally as well as ensures safety for all its citizens wherever they may be.

Please sign this petition urging the Canadian government to take immediate action towards ending this genocide in Gaza.
