Demand Ben Rattray to Step Down as CEO of Change.org

The Issue

As a deeply concerned parent and citizen, I am personally troubled by the actions of Ben Rattray, the current CEO of Change.org. My concern stems from my belief that Rattray's personal depiction on his Wikipedia page may influence our children negatively. The description "sporty and handsome" not only segregates but also promotes a specific physical stereotype, leading our children to question their self-worth.
Not to mention one of the biggest funders of this organization is Bill Gates, who incidentally is buying up and owns land, the size of Rhode Island in the United States. Several of his hundreds of thousands of acres, have natural water sources underneath them; do you think one of the richest men in the world have your best interest at heart? Or do you think they might know of a potential and I admit that this is conjecture, but that there could be geopolitical un-rest that someone of his power and influence would know well before the common citizen. To own a food source would be the safest place for money. I truly think anybody like that and Rattray’s acceptance of his funds shows his true character. I think Melinda made an excellent choice, separating from Bill Gates, but hey most wives wouldn’t be mad if you went to Epstein Island, right? it sure seems perfectly normal that a couple who were married for 27 years, decided to split. I will admit one more time this could be conjuncture, but maybe did she know something of his ill intent?

shouldn’t change focus more on our youth and education instead of a few very extremely minor artistic drawings? After all, our youth will be in charge and not that long and well before Bill Gates is here to see it, unfortunately, the land will never be returned to the people as I’m sure Mr. Gates has many many many outlets and corporations DBAs you name it, I bet he’s has it.

for example:

Cleveland City had the lowest graduation rate among the 50 largest school districts in the United States. The graduation rate in Cleveland City was 28% overall, and 29% for African-American students. Seems like a much bigger focus.

In addition to this, Rattray's decision to remove books penned by Dr. Seuss over the portrayal of a man holding chopsticks is bewildering. A book by Pav Tilky faced the axe for a petty sketch drawing, despite having less than 300 petitions against it. These decisions reflect an arbitrary and capricious approach towards moderating content, which is both disappointing and alarming.
We petition Change.org to uphold the values of its platform – unbiased neutrality and empowering voices by asking Ben Rattray to step down from his position. Let us erect a future where our children can grow up respecting diversity, embracing their self-image, having land and homes to own, imparting the courage of their convictions. Please sign this petition to demand Ben Rattray's resignation as CEO of Change.org.
