Demand Banks and Government Address Unfair Lending Rates in Jamaica

Demand Banks and Government Address Unfair Lending Rates in Jamaica
The Issue
As a small business owner and citizen, I experience firsthand the burden of unfair and unreasonable interest rates for car loans, personal loans, business loans and mortgages. It's a reality many residents of our country share as we suffer under the weight of a system that is blatantly biased against us. In our communities, it isn't uncommon to hear stories of drained savings, of looming bankruptcy, of dreams crushed under the ruthless onslaught of staggering rates released by our local banks.
The situation has been exacerbated as the Commercial Banks blatantly refuse to align their lending rates with the Bank of Jamaica's reduction, an act that has left the Small Business Association of Jamaica (SBAJ) outraged. It's not merely about monetary manipulation, it's about justice, fairness, and our very livelihoods hanging in the balance.
Therefore, we need to unite. We need to tell our stories, to demand a response from those that continue to silence us. This petition is a cry out, not just for me, but for every small business owner, for every homeowner, for every citizen struggling under the weight of these unjust lending rates. We urge the Banks, the Government, and the Bankers association to pay heed to our requests, to our struggles, and take definitive steps in addressing this alarming situation. It is a call to action for tangible change, complete transparency, and fairness in our financial systems.
Please lend your voice to this cause. Don’t let this be just another moan in the abyss. Sign this petition, let them hear our united voice driving for change. Let them hear our demands for fair lending rates.
