My community and I, residents of Hazard/Perry County, grapple with recurring water issues every year, at times for weeks on end. Despite millions of dollars being funneled into our water system, it seems that no substantive improvements have been made. This stagnant situation demands an immediate investigation by the KY State Attorney General's office.

Undeniably, our community deserves access to safe and reliable water services. Yet, it appears that the money meant for the water system is not being effectively utilized. Accordingly, we also urge the State Attorney to thoroughly probe into the allocation of these grant monies. We need answers as to why, despite such substantial investment, our water system seems not to have been fixed efficiently.

Moreover, we urge a full review of all the contracts awarded to contractors who've worked on these water systems and failed to ameliorate the situation. We need transparency to ensure whether there has been any negligence, malpractice, or corruption involved in our failure to achieve reliable water services.
