We, the citizens of Argyll and Bute, are deeply concerned about the financial decisions made by our local council. Despite being part of one of the world's largest economies, we face a 10% rise in council tax and a staggering 22% pay increase for councillors. This comes at a time when £144 million has been allocated to councils that freeze their taxes. Yet, our council has decided to impose what may be the highest hike in the Scotland.

We question where our money is going and why these increases are necessary when other councils are able to maintain their current tax levels with government support. The lack of transparency raises serious doubts about how funds are being managed.

We call for an independent review into these processes and practices. It is essential that we restore trust and confidence in our local government through accountability and transparency.
