Growing up in our community, attending our local schools, has been an experience fraught with challenges. Recently, these have escalated to concerning levels due to an environment fostered by our school's current principal. Many of my friends and respected teachers face significant issues, including racism, and gang violence  which is unacceptable and debilitating. It is disheartening to see our school, a place meant for inclusivity and safety, turn into a space where students and staff feel marginalized and unsafe.

We are reaching a turning point where immediate action is not only necessary but imperative. Our school district has a duty to ensure the safety, well-being, and equality of all its students and staff. We demand that the superintendent and the School Board launch a thorough investigation into the principal's conduct and implement appropriate disciplinary measures. If necessary, replace the individual to restore trust within the school community.

Moreover, it's crucial to establish a comprehensive safety and inclusivity plan for schools to follow. This plan must include regular training on diversity and anti-racism for both staff and students, clear reporting mechanisms for incidents, and strict consequences for any behavior that undermines the principles of respect and equality.

It's time to protect the students, faculty, and future of our school community.
