I am a member of the Texas Jewish community and my family in Israel is directly impacted by recent terrorist attacks. This issue has become deeply personal for me, as it has for many others in our community. We are distressed by the growing endorsements of Hamas, particularly evident at a recent protest near the Capitol. This organization is recognized internationally as a terrorist group, responsible for countless acts of violence against innocent civilians. The U.S State Department also lists Hamas as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (U.S State Department, Country Reports on Terrorism 2019). It's alarming that such an entity receives support within our state borders.

We urgently call upon members of the Texas legislatures and the Office of the Texas Attorney General to take decisive action against this concerning trend. We believe that it is essential to uphold peace and security not only for us here in Texas but also for our families and friends abroad who live under constant threat.
