Demand Accountability: Invoke the 25th Amendment or Resign – Save Our Democracy
The Issue
Goal:
To compel the Vice President and the U.S. House of Representatives to act against the erosion of constitutional law.
Statement:
We are at a crossroads in American history. As of February 2026, we are witnessing an unprecedented expansion of executive power that threatens the very core of our democratic republic. From the misuse of the Insurrection Act to the reported domestic military deployments in cities like Minneapolis—resulting in the tragic deaths of American citizens like Alex Pretti—the "Take Care Clause" of the Constitution is being ignored.
The President has bypassed Congressional spending authority (Article I), ignored federal court orders regarding Clean Energy funds, and pressured historically apolitical institutions like the Federal Reserve. The law must apply to everyone, including the President.
We are calling on the Vice President of the United States to fulfill their constitutional oath:
Invoke the 25th Amendment: If the President is unable or unwilling to execute the laws of the United States faithfully and within the bounds of the Constitution, the Vice President and Cabinet must act to protect the nation.
Provide a Public Statement of Fitness: We demand the Vice President go on the record regarding the legality of recent executive orders that circumvent the 14th Amendment and Congressional appropriations.
Resign in Protest: If the Vice President cannot or will not stop these unconstitutional acts from within, they must resign to signal to the American people that these actions do not have the consent of the governed.
We further petition the U.S. House of Representatives to immediately initiate formal oversight and impeachment inquiries into the documented "high Crimes and Misdemeanors" of the past year.
Our democracy is not a monarchy. We, the people, demand that our leaders choose the Constitution over party loyalty.
Sign this petition to send a clear message to Washington: The Rule of Law is not negotiable.
