The book "Elvis: A Southern Life" by Joel Williamson contains various allegations about Elvis that distort the truth. His depiction of Elvis's relationship with his wife, Priscilla, is questionable at best. The author claims that upon hearing Priscilla had fallen out of love with him, Elvis became furious and raped her. He goes further to state that Elvis was obsessed in an abnormal way with Priscilla's virginity. However, Priscilla herself has never confirmed these narratives.

Williamson also alleges Elvis took someone named Dixie to the hospital after a condom broke, a claim neither corroborated nor confirmed by 'Dixie'. Moreover, the author presents Elvis as a man who surrounded himself with 14-year-olds for inappropriate relationships. Again, no close associate of Elvis has ever made such a claim.

Published by Oxford United Press (OUP), this book contains misleading representations that pose great harm to the legacy of Elvis. The author Joel Williamson must be held accountable for these inaccuracies and the damage they cause.
