Councilwoman Jerri Green is an elected official representing District 2 on the Memphis City Council, having taken office on November 16, 2023. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she holds a B.A. in English and Political Science and earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University School of Law. As a licensed attorney in Tennessee, Jerri has extensive experience in public interest law, focusing on international human rights and criminal defense. Previously serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris, she led significant initiatives including vaccination efforts during COVID-19. Jerri is recognized for her leadership as Chairwoman of the Economic Development, Tourism, & Technology Committee and Vice-Chair of the Transportation Committee. She is actively involved in community organizations and was named a Superwoman in Business by the Memphis Business Journal in 2023
