The Issue

My name is a voice among many who have been unjustly accused due to false positive hair follicle tests conducted by the Department of Children's Services (DCS) in Lafayette, TN. For two years, I have been entangled in a battle with DCS. Despite passing all my drug screens, any time I was required to do a hair follicle or nail bed test, their results came back positive. However, when I independently went to facilities on the same day for retesting, my results were always negative.

This discrepancy has had devastating consequences. My child was taken from me because DCS and their attorney convinced the judge that I relapsed based on these false positives - even though I've been sober for nearly two years.

Unfortunately, this isn't just about me; it's about countless others who are similarly affected due to these flawed tests. According to studies conducted by Society of Hair Testing (SoHT), there is an acknowledged risk of false positives in hair drug testing due to environmental contamination and other factors.

We demand that DCS be held accountable for its reliance on potentially inaccurate tests which can lead to wrongful accusations and separations of families. We call upon our local government in Lafayette, TN and state legislators to investigate these practices within DCS and ensure more accurate testing methods are used.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice and want to prevent more families from being torn apart based on possibly flawed evidence.
