The Issue

In October of 2024, my life and the lives of countless others in Sunrise Manor, NV, changed for the worse. No longer could my family and I enjoy our home or achieve restful sleep due to the incessant noise and overpowering stench emitted by the Clark County Water Reclamation facility. We had hoped for swift action to restore peace to our neighborhoods, but unfortunately, our cries for help went unanswered by both the county and our state representative.

The problem is far-reaching, affecting over seven neighborhoods within Sunrise Manor and beyond. Despite Clark County collecting $275.00 per household per quarter, specifically to manage these issues, the situation remains unresolved. This failure to act not only breaches public trust but also uses taxpayers' money without effectively addressing the problem it is meant to tackle.

Noise and odor pollution from the Clark County Water Reclamation facility have made it virtually impossible for residents to enjoy their homes, resulting in a significant decline in quality of life. We have endured sleepless nights and unpleasant outdoor experiences for far too long. As taxpayers and residents, we deserve better.

We demand that District G Commissioner Jim Gibson takes immediate responsibility for this persistent issue. We urge the Commissioner to initiate an independent review of the facility's operations and management, considering modern solutions to control and minimize noise and odor emissions. Examples of successful mitigation strategies from other reclamation facilities across the nation can provide a roadmap to tackle these nuisances.

Additionally, we call for transparent communication from the county, providing regular updates on actions being taken and progress being made. It's time for Clark County to prioritize its residents' wellbeing and to ensure that our investments lead to tangible improvements in our community.

This is our chance to reclaim our peace and enjoy our homes once more, free from disruption and discomfort. Stand with us in holding our local officials accountable. Sign this petition to demand the change we need and rightfully deserve.
