Demand Accessible Playgrounds and Amenities for Phase Two of La Estancia

The Issue

As homeowners in phase two of La Estancia, Tucson, Arizona, we were promised that our community would soon be equipped with playgrounds. Unfortunately, this promise remains unfulfilled. Our children are left without a safe and accessible place to play and grow. This lack of basic amenities not only affects the quality of life for our families but also devalues our homes.

The importance of playgrounds in residential communities cannot be overstated. According to a study by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), access to playgrounds promotes physical health, social interaction, cognitive development among children while enhancing community cohesion.

We also demand walking access to Homeowners Association (HOA) facilities as well as further development of amenities in phase two of the neighborhood. The American Planning Association (APA) states that walkability contributes significantly towards sustainable living and fosters a sense of community among residents.

We urge the responsible authorities to uphold their commitments made at the time we purchased our homes. It's time for phase two residents in La Estancia to receive what was promised - accessible playgrounds for our children along with other essential amenities.

Please sign this petition if you believe that every child deserves an accessible place to play within their own community and every homeowner deserves what they were promised when purchasing their home.

UPDATE:

As a member of this vibrant community, I believe it is important to address a matter of utmost importance – the discrepancy between the promises made by our Homeowners Association (HOA) and community developer regarding the amenities in Cornerstone Park in La Estancia and the actual delivery of these amenities.

When we invested in our homes and embraced the vision of a thriving community, we did so with the understanding that Cornerstone Park would feature essential amenities for our families – a kids pool, playground, splash pad, and accessible facilities. These amenities were not mere luxuries; they were integral to the vision and quality of life we were promised.

Regrettably, the finished product of Cornerstone Park falls short of the expectations set by the plans presented to us. The absence of the promised amenities has not only disappointed expectant homeowners but also impacted the community's well-being, especially for our children who were eagerly anticipating a safe and enjoyable space.

As residents who have invested not just in our homes but in the collective dream of a flourishing community, we cannot turn a blind eye to this discrepancy. We must unite, voice our concerns, and demand accountability from the HOA and the community developer. Our shared commitment to this community deserves transparency, integrity, and adherence to the promises made.

Let us come together, not only to address the current shortfall but also to ensure that such discrepancies do not recur in future community developments. Our unity is our strength, and by standing together, we can work towards a community that lives up to its promises and fosters a thriving environment for all.
