Membership Vote – Upholding Accountability and Governance
Dear Members,
Recent actions by the current committee have raised serious concerns regarding governance, financial management, and constitutional compliance. To ensure the club’s long-term stability, we seek your support in calling for a vote to restore responsible leadership.
Concerns at Hand:
Constitutional Breach – The committee overstepped its authority by coercing the General Manager into resigning under duress, a clear violation of our club’s governance principles.
Financial Negligence – Despite the urgent need to address tax obligations, the committee has failed to engage in meaningful discussions. The previous GM and Treasurer had a structured two-year repayment plan in place, which has since been disregarded.
Failure of Leadership – Previous committees maintained transparency by addressing tax debt openly at AGMs, ensuring proper oversight. In contrast, the current committee has failed to provide guidance or solutions.
Failure to Implement a Responsible Repayment Plan – Instead of developing a viable repayment strategy, the new committee has relied on rhetoric about financial responsibility without outlining actionable steps. Their lack of experience in managing golf club operations leaves them ill-prepared to make informed decisions. Rather than consulting those with the necessary expertise, they have removed the one individual who played a key role in the club’s financial turnaround, further jeopardizing its stability.
Neglect of Fiduciary Duty – The new committee and Treasurer have refused to engage with the ATO on resolving the tax debt, abandoning the responsible management approach taken by the previous leadership. Their failure to act has placed the club in financial uncertainty.
The Toxic Influence of the New Committee Members – Since their appointment, Jamie Walters, Paul Lambert, and Kevin Hoare have fostered a divisive and toxic environment within the club.
Their failure to address concerns from senior staff, dishonesty, and personal agendas rather than a commitment to the club’s best interests has resulted in the unfair removal of dedicated staff, false accusations against club leadership, and a culture of mistrust amongst members face the possibilty of hundreds of Members leaving the club as they have indicated because of this new culture.
Members Leaving the Club in Protest
One of the most alarming consequences of the toxic leadership of Jamie Walters, Paul Lambert, and Kevin Hoare is the mass exodus of loyal, long-standing members who no longer feel welcome, valued, or respected at our club.
Because of the coercive, divisive, and unethical actions of this committee—particularly those of Jamie Walter and Paul Lambert—a significant number of members have already made the decision to resign from our club and join a nearby golf clubs instead. This is not just a few dissatisfied individuals—it is a substantial portion of our membership base, including key contributors, volunteers, and financially supportive members who have been the backbone of this club for years.
Why Are Members Leaving?
Members are walking away from our club because they refuse to support a leadership team that has acted with dishonesty, and disregard for the club’s best interests. Their reasons include:
The unjust and unethical removal of our General Manager, who worked tirelessly for the growth and sustainability of the club.
Lack of transparency and accountability, particularly regarding the club’s financial decisions and the rejected tax debt recovery plan.
A loss of trust in the committee’s ability to run the club effectively and in the best interests of its members.
Your Right to Act:
Per Clause 8.2.1 of the Constitution, members have the authority to call a general meeting to address these concerns.
Motion of No Confidence:
We, the undersigned members, move for the removal of the current committee due to:
Mismanagement leading to financial and operational instability.
Lack of transparency and accountability in decision-making.
Failure to act in the best interest of members and the club.
Breaches of Constitution Clauses 10.4.1 and 10.4.2.
The creation of a toxic, divisive environment that threatens the club’s integrity.
Resolution:
We call for:
Committee's right to reply.
An immediate vote on this motion.
The removal of the current committee.
The appointment of an interim committee to oversee elections.
