"Scales: Mermaids Are Real" was captivating, engaging, and fun to watch. Its charm, however, was dimmed by its unfinished storyline—leaving us longing for a sequel. It left us hanging with an end credits scene where Siren (who was now a mermaid) and her biological mermaid mother encounter a merman while swimming in the ocean.

Initially, the promise of a sequel sprung hope among us fans. There stood a section, boldly titled "The Sequel" on the movie’s official website, teasing a continuation. However, it's now been nearly a decade and this promised sequel has remained elusive. The word "Coming Soon" that has lingered on the website seems more like an empty promise now than an exciting update.  Unfortunately, the website recently got shut down as well. In fact, what's very strange and suspicious is that it got shut down sometime after this petition was posted!!

In an era where sequels and remakes are the norm, it is disheartening that our favorite mermaids have not made their return. "Scales Mermaids Are Real" was not just another film; it was a unique piece of visual art that appealed to a vast audience. The captivating storyline, with the promise of more, deserves to see the light of day. I heard one of the reasons why a sequel hasn't happened yet is because everyone is trying to get funding for the development.

Therefore, we urge the decision-makers, the creators, and the production house to set in motion a sequel for "Scales Mermaids Are Real". Let us not leave this well-loved story hanging any longer. Let us continue the journey we've been eagerly awaiting, and offer this engaging movie the sequel it genuinely deserves. We have waited long enough!
