Demand a Sequel for the Groundbreaking LGBT+ Movie “Love Lies Bleeding”
The Issue
As an ardent fan and member of the LGBTQ+ community, this movie was a beacon of hope and representation for many like me. The film, led by Katy & Kristen, has been transformative to gays all around the world. It's not just about entertainment; it's about seeing ourselves represented in mainstream media. Specifically non femme presenting women.
The importance of such representation cannot be understated. According to GLAAD's annual "Where We Are on TV" report (2019), only 10.2% of regular characters on primetime scripted broadcast series were identified as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer - a stark contrast to reality where we make up much more significant portion of society.
Rose Glass' direction brought life to our stories in ways that few others have managed before. Her work resonated with us deeply and we believe that a sequel would not only continue this important narrative but also provide further opportunities for LGBTQ+ actors and actresses in Hollywood.
We urge Rose Glass and the production team behind this groundbreaking movie to consider making a sequel. This is not just about one movie or one story; it is about continuing the momentum towards greater inclusivity and diversity in cinema.
Please sign this petition if you too believe in the power of representation and want to see more diverse narratives on screen.
