Demand a Reliable Bus Service for Selsdon Vale & Forestdale
The Issue
Ladies & Gentlemen, My name is Michael a 17 year old resident of Selsdon Vale & Forestdale concerned about the bus service in our area. Residents have long been ignored & pushed aside by TFL & route 433 with Buses constantly not turning up on time for example on weekends & especially late at night buses leaving East Croydon early or buses not turning up at all & skipping East Croydon, Selsdon Vale & Forestdale. Buses full with no seats & sometimes no where to stand before even leaving Selsdon Vale, children not able to get school, students not being able to get to college or university & commuters not being able to get to work.
What is most extremely concerning is that elderly & vulnerable residents are having to wait in the rain & cold for extended periods of time normally around 30-40 mins at East Croydon for a bus home.
If you sign this petition we are calling for an investigation into why buses aren’t turning up & cutting short of the route.
Fair share of buses for Selsdon Vale & Forestdale such as changing the 433 timetable as it hasn’t updated from when it went to West Croydon many years ago to reflect it’s new terminus Park Street & the new demand needed by passengers with delays & early runnings.
The 64 has many buses running which seem to be mostly reliable but please feel free to email me if otherwise & the 412 has empty double decker buses while we get cramped unreliable buses & pay for our fares we expect to be treated the same as the rest of Selsdon.
As you can see down below I have attached screenshots & photos of some of the many buses mostly late nights early mornings, Saturday Sunday which started at Queenhill road then terminated at Fairfield Road before turning around without serving East Croydon & Croydon Town Centre on this occasion the driver never let us know he only stopped & told people waiting outside where he was going.
On another occasion there was an incident at East Croydon on a Sunday all the other bus routes diverted smoothly yet the 433 didn’t it terminated at Fairfield Road with no diversion status alert from tfl or bustimes yet again all the other buses did apart from the 433 & I was the only person on there for most of the trip back home to Selsdon Vale.
