Demand a Referendum on the Misrepresented School Bond

The Issue

As a resident of this community and one of many experiencing economic hardship, I am compelled to raise my voice regarding the misrepresentation of the school bond. We voted for a bond that was promised to not exceed $350 million, with the understanding that the best interests of our schools and our taxes were taken into account. Instead, we now find ourselves facing a reality that does not align with what was voted upon.

Research shows that trust in local governments significantly decreases when financial agreements are not adhered to.This petition aims to restore the trust in our community's governance by demanding a fair opportunity to vote on the school bond.

The implementation of bonds that exceed the originally voted amount affects every taxpayer in the community, particularly those of us experiencing financial hardship. It's time we revisited the drawing board and came up with a sustainable and fair plan for our schools without over-burdening the taxpayer.

We cannot let this misrepresentation go unchallenged. Hold our local government accountable and demand financial transparency and integrity. Please sign this petition to request a new referendum on the misrepresented School Bond.
