The Kehewin Cree Nation's leadership, composed of the Chief and Council, is currently undermining our community's governance by refusing to adhere to our established Election Act. As members of this community, we cannot stand idly by while the leadership sidesteps the rules and creates their own, compromising the very foundation of our democratic process.

In my personal experience, I have been affected by these unlawful actions. I was removed from my position unjustly and in direct violation of our Election Law. This blatant disregard for our legal structure threatens the integrity of our leadership and erodes trust among our members. If such actions continue unchallenged, we will suffer under this unjust leadership for another two years. This is a fate we must not allow.

The outcomes of this mismanagement have a real and tangible impact on our day-to-day lives. Many community initiatives rely on the leadership's guidance, which is now compromised by their failure to comply with our laws. Programs vital to education, health, and economic development are at risk when leaders prioritize self-interest over the community's needs.

It's time we push for an immediate reelection, as set forth by our Election Act. By doing so, we can restore order, respect, and adherence to the rules which are foundational to our governance. In turn, this will ensure that our community is led by individuals who respect and uphold the laws that are in place to protect us all.

We demand transparency, accountability, and a renewed commitment to our community's prosperity. We need leaders who prioritize the collective well-being of the Kehewin Cree Nation, aligning with our cultural values and legal structures.
