Deliver Promised Relief to Unpaid TSA Workers in Atlanta

Deliver Promised Relief to Unpaid TSA Workers in Atlanta
The Issue
TSA agents at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport are showing up to work every day—without full pay and without the support they were promised.
During the ongoing federal government shutdown, TSA workers have continued screening passengers and keeping one of the busiest airports in the world running. Despite this, key relief measures announced by elected officials—including meal vouchers, vendor discounts, and on-site parking—were delayed or failed to show up entirely.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Congresswoman Nikema Williams publicly committed to providing these workers with free parking, two meal vouchers per shift, and discounted food from airport vendors. But over the weekend, workers reported getting none of it.
Now, these essential employees are left wondering how they’ll pay rent, make car payments, or cover groceries—all while working stressful jobs without reliable relief.
TSA workers didn’t ask to be caught in the middle of a political standoff. Yet they’re bearing the brunt of it—doing their jobs with no clear paycheck and broken promises of help.
These are not just federal workers. They are parents, neighbors, community members. They show up to work so millions of travelers can get home safely. They deserve more than vague assurances and delayed benefits.
We call on Mayor Andre Dickens, Congresswoman Nikema Williams, and TSA leadership at Hartsfield-Jackson to immediately deliver all promised relief—including meal vouchers, vendor discounts, and accessible parking—and to clearly communicate timelines for any outstanding support.
We also call on Congress to pass funding that ensures backpay for TSA workers and all federal employees working during the shutdown.
Every day without pay is a burden. Every broken promise is a blow to morale. These workers deserve action—not just talk.
Sign now if you believe essential workers who show up for us should never be left behind when they need us most.
