The Issue

To the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the Citizens of India,

Delhi’s air quality has plunged into a severe crisis — with AQI levels crossing 500, creating a public health emergency. The city’s children, elderly, and vulnerable are struggling to breathe, schools are closing, and hospitals are overwhelmed with pollution-related illnesses.

Despite repeated warnings from scientists and environmental bodies, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has failed to implement strong and sustainable measures to control this recurring disaster. This ongoing neglect represents not only administrative failure but a violation of citizens’ fundamental right to life and clean air under Article 21 of the Constitution.

Therefore, as responsible citizens, we demand:
 1. The immediate resignation of the current Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, accepting accountability for prolonged inaction.
 2. The appointment of a qualified and proactive leader with a clear action plan to combat air pollution across North India.
 3. Transparent, year-round enforcement of pollution control policies, crop burning prevention, and clean energy initiatives.

The health and future of millions cannot be compromised any longer. Delhi and other affected regions deserve urgent, accountable leadership that treats clean air as a basic human right, not an annual emergency.

Sign this petition to demand responsibility and decisive environmental governance — for Delhi, for India, and for future generations.
